Two perspectives. One complete visitor experience.

Strengthen the system—and the conversation.

Jennifer and Terry bring distinct, connected disciplines to the work. One helps the organization see the complete experience it creates. The other equips staff to respond well when a visitor is standing in front of them.

01

The organizational foundation

Jennifer Zazo-Brown

CEO, Founder & Principal Consultant

Jennifer helps organizations understand who they serve, where the experience works, where it breaks down, and how departments can work together more effectively.

  • Organizational assessment
  • Visitor personas and journey mapping
  • Leadership decision mapping
  • Cross-department facilitation
  • Team charters and shared commitments
02

The practical conversation

Terry E. Brown

Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Terry turns that organizational understanding into usable front-line skills—helping staff connect, respond, set boundaries, and make sound choices in real public conversations.

  • The Four Questions model
  • PAUSE for difficult interactions
  • Silent Conversation and Noticing
  • Real-world scenario practice
  • Confident, respectful communication

Who it is for

The people who meet the public every day.

This workshop starts with cultural sites, parks, museums, and visitor centers—then adapts its scenarios and language to fit your organization.

01

Cultural sites & museums

For interpreters, visitor-services teams, guides, and volunteers who help people connect with places and stories.

02

Parks & visitor centers

For front-line teams who welcome many kinds of visitors and answer questions in the moment.

03

Government teams

Customized for public counters, constituent services, community meetings, and difficult conversations.

04

Small business & hospitality

Customized for owners and staff who want complaints handled with care—and customers who want to return.

The Confident Conversation

Confidence that comes from practice—not a script.

Participants leave with a repeatable way to listen, respond, and decide what comes next.

01

Turn facts into connection

Use four simple questions to move from giving information to creating a meaningful exchange.

02

Handle difficult moments

Slow the interaction down, acknowledge the concern, and choose a safe, constructive response.

03

Notice before explaining

Pay attention to what people see, feel, and bring with them before deciding what they need to hear.

04

Know your boundaries

Recognize when to answer, when to set a limit, and when to exit or bring in support.

The Four Questions

From information to invitation.

A practical model for turning a flat fact into a conversation people can enter.

  1. 01

    What is the fact?

Start with what is known, accurate, and relevant.

  2. 02

    What is the human experience?

Connect the information to choices, emotions, work, family, or daily life.

  3. 03

    Why does it matter?

Help people see the meaning without telling them what they must think.

  4. 04

    What is the invitation?

Open the door with a question that welcomes the visitor into the story.

When it gets difficult

Take a PAUSE.

A steadying framework for responding to hostile, emotional, or high-stakes encounters.

The goal is not to “win.” It is to protect dignity, safety, and the possibility of a better next step.
P

Prepare yourself

Take a breath. Notice your own reaction before you respond.

A

Acknowledge

Let the person know you heard the concern—not necessarily that you agree.

U

Understand

Ask a useful question and listen for what is really at stake.

S

Share or set a boundary

Offer what you know, explain what you can do, or state a clear limit.

E

Engage, exit, or escalate

Choose the safest and most constructive next step.

Silent Conversation + Noticing

Slow down. Look again.

Participants respond to images without talking, then use the same noticing questions in a real room or public setting. The exercise builds observation, curiosity, and comfort with more than one point of view.

  • Notice details before reaching for an explanation
  • Separate observation from assumption
  • Ask questions that invite, rather than test
  • Practice with real scenarios from your team

Recent work

Building the experience. Strengthening the conversation.

In August 2026, Jennifer designed and led Day One and Terry designed and led Day Two as part of Stratford Hall Historic Preserve’s three-day staff retreat. Jennifer’s day focused on the visitor experience across the organization; Terry’s day brought together the Four Questions, PAUSE, noticing practice, and difficult-visitor scenarios drawn from the organization’s staff survey.
